Federal Customs Service Proposes Increased Duties on Imported Air Conditioners

The Russian Federal Customs Service has proposed raising import duties by up to 10% on residential and industrial electronic equipment, including air conditioners, equipment for filtering and cleaning gases, and AC and DC electric motors. Customs officials believe that higher duties would have a positive effect on the production of similar equipment in Russia. In addition, if the volume of imports remains unchanged, this measure would bring the federal budget an additional US$ 1,050 billion.

CTS-Conditioner Celebrates 20 Years

This September, CTS-Conditioner celebrated its 20th anniversary. CTSConditioner was one of the first Russian companies in the field of air conditioning and ventilation systems that offered qualified technical solutions and advanced technology and equipment from world-leading manufacturers. CTS-Conditioner took an active part in the creation and formation of APIC. Pavel Neustadt, general director of CTS-Conditioner, was also the first president of APIC. The company has successfully completed more than 3,500 projects to date. CTSConditioner offers customers a full range of engineering services, from designing and constructing engineering systems to service and maintenance contracts. Today the company also works in such areas as ventilation and smoke removal, heating, water supply, and sewerage. The company also frequently acts as a general contractor. Summarizing two decades of the company’s business, Mr. Neustadt commented, “We succeeded in building an effective working structure that allows us to develop dynamically. And most important, different directions of our business have been formed in parallel, independently of each other. In addition to this successful company infrastructure, we have created good human relations that are, in my opinion, even more important for business.”
